- Cruises
- We chartered an Island Packet 420 in the Caribbean in the spring of 2008 and had a ball. The boat had everything except an autopilot, and we used it to the max. The couple that went with us have a daughter in St. Thomas, and we got to spend the night at her house on the front end and back end of the trip. Her husband was good enough to use his pickup to load our gear and come unload it, plus let us stay at their home. We were truly spoiled.
- Racing
- We joined a yacht club in Hudson, Florida, and were welcomed into the racing group. We won Boat of the Year our first year (2006), more due to ignorance and beginner's luck than anything. We finished first again in 2008 and 2009. Took first in the Gulf Harbors race in 2008, and finished in the middle of the pack of 137 boats in the Mug Race in Jacksonville in 2010. (After 9.5 hours of racing, we beat the other Mac 26D by 11 seconds. It was a hoot!)
